In 2015 Larry Porter was asked by director Alexander Netschajew
to compose music for a new theater production of the German
classic, Nathan the Wise. Larry came up with 16 pieces for
solo piano. Most of them served as incidental music, but some
were played interactively with the actors, most notably a
long accompaniment for the famous Ring Parable. The play was
performed many times in the Theater der Altmark, a state theater
in Stendal, Germany as well as in numerous other cities. Porter
played the music live on stage for all the performances.
